Each entry says what the term means here, what it does not mean, and which guide to read next. On this page: - [How to use this](https://www.sainapse.ai/learning/glossary#learning_glossary_03) - [Questions](https://www.sainapse.ai/learning/glossary#learning_glossary_04) - [The entries](https://www.sainapse.ai/learning/glossary#learning_glossary_05) ## Definitions, not a ranking. These entries fix the words the rest of the learning set uses. A compare page is where a vendor claim gets a source and a date. If a price matters, follow that link. Nothing here invents a rate or a finish rate. The terms overlap in vendor copy on purpose. Helpdesk automation, an AI helpdesk, and an AI support agent get used as if they were one product. They are not, and the shortlist gets clearer once they are split. ## What a glossary will not settle. A definition will not name a winner. Sainapse is a layer on the desk you already run. That is a position. The comparisons say when another vendor is the better fit, and they are the pages that have to. A chatbot, a copilot, and a write into the system of record are three events. Treating them as one word is how a demo stands in for a finished ticket. The entries below keep them apart. ## Prices live on the comparisons. Outcome pricing, seat prices, and included volumes change, and a glossary that copies them goes stale without a retrieval date. Fin's published outcome price is on the Intercom alternatives page, with the date that page was read. Sainapse's own price is the pricing page: a platform fee, included AI-handled tickets, and the overage the public plans state. This glossary does not restate the numbers, so a pricing change has one place to land. ## Start from the desk you keep. If you are buying, start with what an AI layer is, then how to judge a vendor. Use a glossary entry when a term in those guides is doing too much work. If the desk itself is the problem, say so and run that decision separately. An AI definition will not choose your next system of record. ## Common questions ### Why isn't every vendor in the glossary? A glossary that lists vendors becomes a roundup, and a roundup needs sources. Named vendors live on the compare pages. The glossary keeps the words those pages assume. ### Do these definitions replace the guides? No. An entry is the term. A guide is the question a buyer should be able to answer. A compare page is the named vendor, with sources. Use the entry to get oriented, then the longer page. ### Where do I start if I am buying? With what an AI layer is, then how to judge a vendor. Open the glossary when you need a term before a guide, and the compare hub when you are ready to shortlist. Related ## Where to go next The glossary, the other guides, and the comparisons that carry a source and a date when a vendor is named. ### Glossary entries - [Helpdesk automation](https://www.sainapse.ai/learning/helpdesk-automation): A step the desk no longer waits on a person to start. Not a rip-out. - [AI agent assist vs an AI agent](https://www.sainapse.ai/learning/ai-agent-assist-vs-ai-agent): Who still has to send the work, and who is allowed to finish it. - [Zendesk AI](https://www.sainapse.ai/learning/zendesk-ai): The assistant that ships with Zendesk, and the stay, switch, or layer choice. - [AI support agent](https://www.sainapse.ai/learning/ai-support-agent): A support step a person would have taken. Not a chat window by itself. - [AI helpdesk](https://www.sainapse.ai/learning/ai-helpdesk): The desk's own AI, a new helpdesk, or a layer on the one you run. - [AI grounding](https://www.sainapse.ai/learning/ai-grounding): An answer tied to a source the team can open. Fluency is not a source. - [Enterprise conversational AI](https://www.sainapse.ai/learning/enterprise-conversational-ai): A support conversation under real controls. A widget is not that. ### Longer guides - [What an AI layer is](https://www.sainapse.ai/learning/what-is-an-ai-support-layer): A layer finishes work inside the desk you already run. It is not a rip-out. - [Built-in vs external AI](https://www.sainapse.ai/learning/built-in-helpdesk-ai-vs-external-ai-layer): Stay with the desk's own AI, switch helpdesks, or add a layer. - [How to judge a vendor](https://www.sainapse.ai/learning/how-to-evaluate-ai-customer-support-vendors): Finish, pricing, and fit, including when another vendor is the better choice. - [All learning guides](https://www.sainapse.ai/learning): The hub, grouped by the question each guide answers. ### Comparisons - [All vendor comparisons](https://www.sainapse.ai/compare): What each vendor finishes, how each is priced, and when another one fits. - [Intercom Fin alternatives](https://www.sainapse.ai/compare/intercom-fin-alternatives): Keep Fin, switch helpdesks, or add a layer. The outcome price is sourced. - [Zendesk AI alternatives](https://www.sainapse.ai/compare/zendesk-ai-alternatives): Built-in Zendesk AI, a helpdesk switch, or a layer on the desk you run. - [ServiceNow AI alternatives](https://www.sainapse.ai/compare/servicenow-ai-alternatives): Why most ServiceNow searches want an AI layer, not an ITSM rip-out. - [Decagon vs Sierra vs Fin](https://www.sainapse.ai/compare/fin-vs-decagon-vs-sierra): What each costs, what it runs on, and where the sourced claims differ. ## See it on the desk you already run Bring one queue from the helpdesk or ITSM you run today.
