# Sierra AI pricing: outcome-based, no public rate

Compare

## Sierra AI pricing

Sierra does not publish a dollar price. It publishes a model. You pay when the agent achieves an outcome you defined together, and an unresolved conversation, in most cases, is not charged. Some work is blended with consumption pricing. The rate itself is a quote. This page separates that public model from the number Sierra's site does not contain.

The public model

## Outcome-based, and still a quote.

Sierra's product page says it pioneered outcome-based pricing: you pay only when the software achieves specific, valuable outcomes, and you only pay for the value delivered. The same page describes a long-term partnership with an expert agent team. It does not list a price, a minimum, or a trial.

The 2024 essay is more specific about the bill, and still not about the dollars. Outcome-based pricing varies with usage, but the meter is a business result: a resolved conversation, a saved cancellation, an upsell. If the conversation is unresolved, in most cases there is no charge. If a case is escalated, in most cases there is no charge. Criteria are agreed up front.

Sierra also says the model is not the only one it will sell. Routing or greeter-style work may be consumption-priced, on conversation count, regardless of outcome. A later essay says the company is not dogmatic and does consumption-style work where attribution is weak. Outcome pricing, it says, only works when the software is highly autonomous and the result can be attributed.

That is the whole public rate card: a principle, two carve-outs, and no number. Buyer guides elsewhere estimate an annual contract. Sierra has not confirmed a figure on the pages we read, so this page does not print one.

## What Sierra's own pages commit to

Every cell is a claim Sierra makes, or a gap on the same pages. None of them is a dollar rate.

| | What Sierra publishes | What it does not |
| --- | --- | --- |
| The meter | Pay when an outcome is achieved | A dollar price per outcome |
| Unresolved work | In most cases, no charge | The exception list, in public |
| Escalations | In most cases, no charge | Your contract's definition of most |
| Hard to attribute | Consumption-style pricing may apply | The blend ratio |
| How you start | A partnership and a quote | A self-serve plan or a trial |
| Where this was read | Product page and two essays | A pricing URL with numbers |

## Three ways to read a bill

Sierra withholds the rate and publishes the principle. Fin publishes the rate. Sainapse publishes a platform fee and an overage. The units are not interchangeable.

| | Sierra | Fin | Sainapse |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Dollar rate | Not published | $0.99 per outcome | From $500 a month |
| What you pay for | An agreed outcome | A listed outcome type | Included tickets, then overage |
| Escalation | Usually not charged | No outcome, no charge | Not metered per outcome |
| Before a call | A quote | Rate card and a 14-day trial | Public plan fees |
| Minimum in public | None stated | 50 outcomes a month | 1,000 tickets on Starter |
| Add-on opacity | The outcome definition | Qualifications are $9.99 | Enterprise is custom |

## Priced facts, and the gaps

- **No dollar rate**: Sierra's product page and pricing essays do not state a price, a minimum, or a trial.

- **The principle**: You pay only when the software achieves a specific, valuable outcome.

- **Unresolved**: If the conversation is unresolved, in most cases there is no charge.

- **Escalated**: If a case is escalated, in most cases there is no charge. Criteria are agreed up front.

- **The blend**: Routing or greeter work may be consumption-priced. Attribution has to be clean for outcomes.

- **Fin, for contrast**: $0.99 per outcome, 50 a month minimum, 14-day trial. A qualification is $9.99.

- **Sainapse plans**: From $500 a month, 1,000 included tickets, $0.50 overage on Starter and Growth.

- **Not repeated**: Third-party annual estimates for Sierra are not repeated here as a list price.

Fit

## When Sierra's pricing is the better fit

Sierra is the better buy when you want the vendor paid only if a defined outcome lands, and you have the runway to agree that definition in a contract. Its essays are explicit that the incentive is the point: Sierra gets paid when the task is done, and an escalation, in most cases, is not a charge. If that alignment matters more to you than a webpage with a rate, the opacity is the commercial model, not a missing FAQ.

Sierra is also the better buy when the agent is the customer experience you are purchasing. Voice, chat, email, and WhatsApp, with Sierra's own team beside the build, is a different project from turning on a meter. A quote is how that project is sold. Teams that want a trial this week are not the buyer Sierra describes.

Fin is the better buy when finance will not model a bill without a public rate. $0.99 per outcome is on the page, with a 50-outcome minimum and a 14-day trial. The catch is the outcome list: qualifications are $9.99, and a bare handoff to your team is not an outcome. Read that list before you call the products equivalent.

Sainapse fits when you want a platform fee, a stated number of AI-handled tickets, and a published overage, and the work is the record in the helpdesk and the systems behind it. Do not treat $0.50 and an unpublished Sierra outcome as the same unit. They are not.

Proof

## What Sainapse runs in production

### Ford, four-plus years live

Named: 300+ specialists, 250K+ tickets a year, embedded natively in ServiceNow. 95% copilot accept rate. Resolutions applied by engineers without edits. ~100% triage and routing accuracy. Hand-offs per resolved ticket 4 to 1.2.

### An enterprise SaaS support desk

Anonymized: 400+ specialists, 1.2M+ tickets a year, 12 months live inside the helpdesk. Customer-initiated touchpoints per resolved ticket 4 to 1.2. CSAT +35%, concurrent with the Sainapse period, as correlation, not a causal claim.

### How these numbers are measured

Method: Accept rate is the service desk's own accept and reject telemetry, not a survey. Hand-off counts exclude automated steps. Satisfaction movement is published as correlation because that is what the readout is.

## Common questions

### How much does Sierra AI cost?

Sierra does not publish a number. The product page and the two pricing essays describe outcome-based pricing and, where that does not fit, consumption-style pricing. They do not state a rate, a minimum, or a trial. Estimates on other sites are not Sierra's rate card, and they are not repeated here.

### What does Sierra mean by outcome-based pricing?

You pay when an agreed result happens: a resolved conversation, a saved cancellation, an upsell, or another result defined up front. If the conversation is unresolved, or the case is escalated, Sierra says in most cases there is no charge. The phrase 'in most cases' is doing real work. The contract is where the exceptions live.

### How is that different from Fin's $0.99?

Fin prints the rate and a list of events that count. Sierra prints the principle and negotiates the event. Both can call the model outcome-based. Only Fin lets you multiply a public price by a volume before a sales call. A qualification on Fin is $9.99, not $0.99, so the list still matters.

### What does Sainapse publish instead?

A platform fee and included AI-handled tickets. Starter is $500 a month with 1,000 tickets. Extra tickets on Starter and Growth are $0.50, under a cap you set. Enterprise is custom. That is a different unit from a Sierra outcome. Publishing it does not make Sainapse the cheaper Sierra.

### When is an unpublished rate the right model?

When the outcome is genuinely attributable, the vendor's pay depends on it, and you would rather negotiate the definition than inherit someone else's. Sierra says outcome pricing fails when the work is not autonomous or the result cannot be tied to the software. If that describes your queue, their own essay is the warning.
